Sony Ericsson calls this model a real leader, because it combines a lot of modern developments, in particular, 8-megapixel camera and processor with a clock frequency of 1 GHz. Original Android interface has been replaced by visual superstructure Rachael, who will turn the management of the communicator in the game. She is very beautiful and user-friendly, it is clear that the developers tried. The unit did not have given a name X3 for two reasons: to avoid confusion with telephone Nokia X3, and because the X1 and X2 – a communicator on Windows Mobile, and the X10 – it has guglofon with Google Android. Interestingly, this device is not the latest version of OSes, not 2.0, but only 1,6. X10 goes on sale in the first quarter of next year, with several color options – gothic-black and bright white.

Sony Ericsson’s W995 goes the extra media mile, 8MP camera and stunning music playback

On the outside it sports a thin slider design in progressive black, cosmic silver, or energetic red. Its front face is dominated by a 2.6-inch display, which should lend itself well to watching everything from music videos to movies. You’ll also find a desk stand (very nice!) and stereo speakers.

And just to prove that miracles do happen, Sony Ericsson broke down and included a 3.5mm headset jack. We’re not sure what made the company change its mind, but we couldn’t care less.

The W995’s Walkman player offers the standard range of features, including album art, shake control, TrackID, and an adjustable bass level. You’ll also be able to save MP3 and AAC files as ring tones. The 8.1-megapixel camera is straight out of a Cyber-shot line. It has a 16x digital zoom, auto-focus, face detection, a flash, image stabilization, Sony’s PictBridge, a video recorder, and picture blogging.

Finishing out the feature set are stereo Bluetooth, assisted-GPS with support for Google Maps, Wi-Fi, messaging and e-mail, a voice recorder, an FM radio, phone-as-modem capability, USB mass storage, PC syncing, instant messaging, organizer applications, a speakerphone, gaming, and direct access to YouTube.

With so much under the hood, it’s imperative Sony Ericsson backs it all up with solid battery life and memory. Fortunately, the W995’s specs look promising. Its Memory Stick Micro slot will accommodate cards up to 8GB, the internal memory is 118MB, and Sony Ericsson promises that the W995’s battery life will be long enough to support two full-length films (9 hours talk time, 20 hours music time and 5 hours video time).

The W995 will be available in the second quarter of this year for an undisclosed price. The W955 will be quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900) and dual-band UMTS (900/2100), while the W995a will be quad-band GSM and tri-band UMTS (850/1900/2100). The latter is formatted for the North American market.

Key Features:

Brushed metal body parts

Quad-band GSM, dual-band HSDPA

2.6″ 256K-color TFT display of QVGA resolution

8.1 megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, face detection

WQVGA video recording at 30fps

Built-in GPS with A-GPS functionality

Wi-Fi with DLNA support

Bluetooth (with A2DP) and USB v2.0

Accelerometer sensor

118MB of internal memory and M2 memory expansion (8GB card included)

Stereo speakers

3.5 mm audio jack

Kickstand

Walkman 4.0 music player with Shake control and SensMe

FM radio with RDS

Multi-tasking support

Smart dialing

Comfortable keypad, nice sliding mechanism

Main disadvantages:

Video recording limited to WQVGA

No lens protection

No DivX/XviD video support (though it’s touted as a video-centric phone)

Kickstand construction could’ve been more reliable

No office document viewer

A tipster tells us that the device you’re looking at here is Sony Ericsson’s codename “Vulcan” — better known as the X2 — which would presumably replace the X1 at some point in the next few days, weeks, months, or years. Though the picture’s small, you can clearly make out the X Panel button in the lower left of the phone’s front and a Windows key in the upper left of the keyboard, which adds a dose of credibility — the company has, after all, put quite a bit of time and effort into pimping its panel interface SDK, and right now, the X1 is the only device that supports it. The image looks a little rough around the edges, but we can easily chalk that up to this being either a composite mockup or a very early prototype combined with the fact that our tipster seems to have blanked out the surroundings to protect the source. We’re not saying it’s definitely real, but this certainly looks plausible — we’re just not convinced yet that it looks better than the model it’d replace

The rumored Sony Ericsson Frances has now received a proper name – it will be called Sony Ericsson C903. Much like a slider version of the 5 megapixel Cyber-Shot Filippa, but with GPS receiver.

The competition for leaked upcoming and unannounced phones continues. In this new edition we present you the Sony Ericsson C903, also known under the codename Frances.

The new Cyber-Shot will join the family with 5 megapixel camera, 2.4-inch QVGA screen, GPS and slide design solution. It should be an upgraded version of the SE C901 (Filippa), but there is no info about xenon flash presence. The usual suspect aplications are here: PhotoFix, Face Detection and Smile Shutter.

Sony Ericsson C903

Wi-Fi connectivity will not be available since C903 will have a lower tag price than the flagman C905.

The official announcement, logically, will be at MWC 2009 and the expected release – in the end of Q2 this year.

There are quite a few devices we’re expecting Sony Ericsson to announce. BeiBei, Paris, Shino and now another device is included in the mix. A handset codenamed “Alicia” is a stylish Walkman clamshell with two displays. And while we don’t have enough information about this phone at the moment, we do know its outer screen won’t be used only for displaying caller ID — it will feature some nice Walkman animations or the current weather condition, changing the theme depending on the time of the day. In addition, we know this baby will support TrackID and will be capable to playback both music and video files.

Finally, before I let you go, you should see the first demo video of the device. It just arrived and it’s waiting for you after the jump. Enjoy!
